Valley attractions

• Gnomesville, just outside Dardanup. You can leave your own gnome behind
as a sign of your passage!

The giant jarrah King Tree.

• The Bibbulmun Track (a world class 1000km walking and trekking trail), which
begins in Perth passes through the Collie town site, winds around the very
picturesque Harris Dam, crosses the Ferguson Valley, meanders through the
countryside from Dwellingup to Pemberton, from Walpole to Albany.

• The Munda Biddi Trail ('path through the forest' in the Nyoongar Aboriginal
language) is a world-class nature-based off-road cycling experience for the beginner
as well as for the rider asking for a challenge. There are few places left in the world
where a 900-kilometre track could be built through an undeveloped natural corridor
using bush tracks, firebreaks and old abandoned railway tracks. Stage 1 of the track
has been built. It offers basic shelter, tent sites and toilets for the cyclists from the
hills east of Perth and finishes in Collie. Soon it will reach the Ferguson Valley and
pass in front of Carlaminda winery along Richards Road.

Nearby attractions;

• Bunbury where you can wine and dine in award-winning restaurants, historic pubs, discover the colourful cappuccino strip of sidewalk cafes, have a great shopping experience, visit galleries or museums and enjoy an interesting nightlife.

• The beaches are never far away and you can always enjoy activities like surfing, swimming, fishing, crabbing and sailing.

•You can have personal encounters with the dolphins at the Koombana Bay
Dolphin Discovery Centre.

• You can go crabbing or fishing in the Leschenault Inlet, enjoy the mangrove
boardwalk and view many different species of birds.

• Collie, a historical mining town and the Collie River Valley have many attractions
on offer. Minninup Pool, Long Pool and Honeymoon Pool are serene parts of the
river where people can enjoy canoeing, swimming, picnicking or camping. Other
sites like the Rapids, Big Rock and Little Rock are all beautiful places where to
rest in the shade of the peppermint trees, have fun playing with your children, or
just dream and watch the stars.

• The Wellington Dam, which is the South West’s largest water reservoir, is
situated in the middle of superb forests. If you come at the right time, you might
be able to see the stunning water display when the dam overflows. The Wellington National Park offers several gorgeous bushwalk possibilities.

• Capel with the only naturally growing tuart forest in the world is certainly worth
a visit. (Tuart Forest National Park.)
