Ferguson Valley  History • Our Winemaking • Our Wines Contact us

Our aim is a continuous search for excellence in both growing and wine making. As a small wine producer, our choice was not complicated : if we want to survive, we have to produce first class wines to an affordable price.

Anita prunes the vineyard and supervises nature’s work to keep the vines happy and in perfect health. This is a long process demanding patience, attention and dexterity. All this hard work finishes in the highlight of the year: the harvest of beautiful juicy grapes, ripe to perfection. The grapes are cut by hand in bunches, put into small baskets and then brought back into the winery as soon as possible to keep the fruit in perfect condition.

This is when Quirinus and his winemaker become active. First, the grapes are crushed in the membrane press. This process allows to extract the maximum of colour, the different wine aromas and natural tannins. The vatting is then done in stainless steel vats, which allow perfect mastery of temperature and excellent hygiene.

Once this is done and the winemaker is happy with the results, the wines are cellared either in stainless steel tanks or in French or American oak barrels to allow the characteristic aromas to develop to their full potential.

All that is left then is to bottle the wine and to convince you to try some. It will bring happiness and joie de vivre to the most discerning palate. Our Shiraz and Semillon wines can be enjoyed at any time of the day and the night, just for pleasure, or with a nice meal.
